Join The Berkeley Pulse
A student-run media collective built around media, creativity, community, and workshop — for people who want to make things, not just talk about them.
The Berkeley Pulse is not a club you join to pad a résumé. It’s a space for students who want to write, report, interview, create, and publish — collaboratively and publicly. We prioritize voice, growth, and real output over rigid hierarchy or institutional media rules.

Ways to Get Involved (Low Pressure, Real Contribution)
You don’t need experience.
You don’t need to “apply” for prestige.
You just need curiosity and follow-through.
Ways people contribute:
Writing (sports, culture, creative, opinion)
Interviewing people on and around campus
Helping with social clips and captions
Photography or video
Editing, organizing, or publishing help
Helping run workshops or open mics
You can start small. You can shift roles. You can grow into leadership
Open Mic & Creative Forum (Black & Latino Voices)
This deserves its own block.
Creative Open Mic & Forum (Launching Soon)
In partnership with ASUC (Margaret Solomon), we’re hosting an open creative forum and mic centering Black and Latino voices — poetry, music, storytelling, dance, and conversation.
This space is about expression, not performance pressure.
Listening counts as participation.
Who This Is For
Writers who want feedback and publication
Students curious about journalism but unsure where they fit
Creatives who don’t feel at home in institutional spaces
People who want to build something from the ground up
Anyone who believes media should feel human again
