Color of Life

Images flash before me of who I was.
Who knew there was so much beauty in that world?
A world full of hope and despair,
And I just didn’t open up my eyes wide enough.

Now, I sit here alone, floating on the sea of spacetime.
Amber light reflects off the ocean of this iridescent ether.
I run my fingers through the prismatic fluid.
And watch as it creates ripples in spacetime.
Those are the particles that make up reality.

I am ethereal,
a glowing being of energy,
but I still have memories of when I was physical,
a person in a place that did something.

So much brilliant complexity emerged from simple rules:
fractals in the leaves, spirals in the skies.
Chords of color form the most stunning harmonies.
Emotion shifts the hue:
cerulean serenity, scarlet melancholy, violet bliss.
So many spectra to have experienced.
Love and loss,
peace and worry,
longing and belonging,
the waves ebbed and flowed.

Glistening, vibrant colors run down my hands,
it reminds me of being alive again –
oh, what it must feel like to be human again –
so I lean back and submerge myself.
